| Monika Jungbauer-Gans studierte Soziologie an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, wo sie 1992 promovierte und 2001 habilitierte. Von 2002 bis 2004 übernahm sie die Vertretung der Professur für Allgemeine Soziologie an der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal. Von 2005 bis 2010 war sie Inhaberin des Lehrstuhls für Soziologie an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel und von 2010 bis 2015 Inhaberin des Lehrstuhls für Empirische Wirtschaftssoziologie an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Sie hat zum September 2015 die wissenschaftliche Leitung des Deutschen Zentrums für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung (DZHW) übernommen. Ihre Forschungsgebiete sind Hochschul- und Arbeitsmarktforschung, Bildungssoziologie, Medizin- und Gesundheitssoziologie sowie qualitative und quantitative Methoden der empirischen Sozialforschung.
Monika Jungbauer-Gans studied sociology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. She was awarded a Ph.D. in 1992 and a habilitation in 2001. From 2002 until 2004 she held a temporary appointment for a professorship in sociological theory at the Bergische University in Wuppertal. From 2005 until 2010 she held the chair of sociology at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel and from 2010 until 2015 the chair of empirical economic sociology at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Since September 2015 she is scientific director of the German Center of Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW). Her research areas are higher education research, labour market research, sociology of education, medical sociology and sociology of health and qualitative and quantitative research methods. | |
